How long does it take to Develop a handbag?

The time required to develop a new accessory is not a straightforward answer as it depends on various factors. The size of the bag, the materials needed, the designing and manufacturing of custom hardware, and the fabricating of logo stamps are some of the services that are part of the development process that are available through the Clutch Made Factory. All of these services and the time that they take can influence the production time. Typically, we estimate that it takes 6-8 weeks for the services in order to have a final sample ready for you. To gain a better understanding of the process during this time, read the text below!

the Design Consultation

A great way to begin working with the Clutch Made Factory Team is by booking our Design Consultation. During this one-hour session, we'll work with you to design your bag and develop your brand, while also guiding you on marketing strategies to help your business succeed.

The Design Consultation is crucial for clarifying your vision and understanding the unique strengths of your brand and product.

Material Sourcing

Once you have a clear idea of the bag you would like to create along with its measurements, then it is time to create the Tech Pack. As we mentioned in our recent blog, How to Prep for an Accessory Tech Pack Development, a well-done Tech Pack is the main key to any successful fashion brand's product. It will provide both the manufacturer and the designer with a clear idea of how the final product should look, with every detail noted on the document. Then, everyone is on the same page. This is the most professional approach, minimizing mistakes and misunderstandings along the way.

After we have the Tech Pack finished, the Clutch Made Team will provide you with some material and hardware ideas for your sample during the material sourcing service. We will assist you in locating the raw materials needed to make your design a reality.

Moreover, we always encourage our customers to design sustainable products, either made from recycled or sustainable materials or by just working with the same TEAM throughout the process, which is sustainable in its own right. We also work with our clients to design timeless accessories that will be made from quality materials, that will last for a considerable duration of wear.

Sample Making

With the Tech Pack done and the material sourcing step also concluded, we will start the Sample Making process. We take pride in creating all of our samples in the USA, using only high-quality materials. However, the length of this process can vary depending on the materials necessary for each sample.

For example, chosen hardware could be out of stock and due within 2-3 weeks, the printing of leather or canvas might take 2 weeks for the layout or creation of the artwork, and then the printing will need to take place. Any of these factors can affect the overall time frame. As a result, we provide our clients with an estimated time for the sample-making process of 6-8 weeks, which may differ depending on the specific needs of the product.
